Ranging from free and discounted services to nice gifts, we've crafted a variety of templates to help you encourage potential guests to book directly with you. Plus, every time you post an offer, it'll automatically be available in over 30 languages for travellers to read.

Furthermore, the eye-catching Special Offer button will appear directly on your hotel profile, making your profile stand out in search results across trivago’s 55 platforms. That way, you'll enjoy greater exposure and customer reach on a global scale.

How to post a Special Offer using a template

Select Special Offer from the navigation menu on the left. Then click on Create Special Offer to continue.

1. Choose a template from the list

2. Click on Next to continue

3. Choose a Special Offer you want to promote

4. The unique text for the chosen offer will appear in the Preview box, showing what travellers will read on your profile

5. Set the expiration date either for 90 days or for a specific time frame using the pop-up calendar. We'll send you a reminder three days before your Special Offer expires

6. Click on Post when you've finished. Your Special Offer will immediately go live on your profile

7. After posting a Special Offer template, a success message will appear on the Special Offer homepage

8. A posted Special Offer template will show up in all of trivago's 30+ languages

9. Click on an inactive Special Offer if you wish to reactivate it on your profile

How to write your own Special Offer

1. Choose Write your own Special Offer

2. Click on Next to continue

3. Select the language in which you'll write your Special Offer. There are 30+ languages to choose from

4. Pick the topic from the drop-down menu

5. Enter concise and appealing information you’d like to share

6. Your text will appear in the Preview box, showing what travellers will read on your profile.

7. Set the expiration date either for 90 days or for a specific time frame using the pop-up calendar. We'll send you a reminder three days before your Special Offer expires.

8. Click on Post when you've finished. Your offer will be active on your profile after an approval process, which can take up to seven business days

9. After submitting a Special Offer, a pending-approval message will show up on the Special Offer homepage

10. A Special Offer you've written will appear on your hotel profile in the language it was submitted

11. Click on an inactive Special Offer if you wish to reactivate it on your profile

Our team's advice

By promoting your property's Special Offer, you have the opportunity to turn curious travellers into paying guests. If you need inspiration, refer to your Visitors' Profile and Rate Insights pages to see what types of offers will appeal to your target audience.

Keep in mind that the Special Offer button will only appear when you've posted an offer—do so to invite travellers to book directly with you.

If you'd like to write your own Special Offer, please follow our set of guidelines to ensure the quality of published content that will appear to travellers on trivago.

  • Promotion of room discounts, room pricing, "the lowest rate," and "the best rate"
  • Competitor names or comparisons between your hotel and a competitor
  • Poor grammar, spelling mistakes, Emoji icons
  • Complete words or sentences written in all caps
  • Website links, email address, telephone number

  • Discounts on services, amenities, admission tickets, parking, etc.
  • Promotion of special news about your hotel
  • Professionally written content translated into foreign languages
  • Letters in all caps are acceptable only in voucher codes

Now that you’ve upgraded from trivago Hotel Manager Basic to PRO, your prominent Contact Details will appear on your hotel profile. Potential guests from around the world can contact you directly by means of three additional communication channels:

  • Email
  • Telephone
  • Official homepage

The placement of your contact information is an opportunity for you to drive direct bookings, as travellers can connect with you personally.

How to update your Contact Details

If you already entered your Contact Details on your hotel profile when you first registered for trivago Hotel Manager Basic, this information will automatically appear upon upgrading to PRO. Nevertheless, please ensure that it's up to date:

  • Select Hotel Details from the navigation menu on the left
  • Fill in your Contact Details if this information doesn't appear, or needs to be updated

Our team's advice

While confirming your Contact Details in the Hotel Information section, take the opportunity to make sure your hotel profile's content is up to date and complete. 

You can do so by navigating through the different tabs in the Hotel Details section, as well as in the Images and Description sections. 

The Profile Completion tips on your dashboard will also indicate to you what content needs to be added or updated.

By including all the specifics about your hotel, you'll reach more travellers on trivago and offer them a better search experience when your Hotel Information matches their criteria, especially when there's accompanying visual content. This has proven to pay off on trivago, with complete hotel profiles receiving 70% more clicks.
